Global demand for automotive TPE plastics is increasing year by year.

The greatest potential for TPE growth worldwide is in China and India. Between 2011 and 2020, 20 million new vehicles will need 110 million pounds (about 50,000 tons) of new thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPV) and styrene block copolymers (SBC).

In Europe, the decline in car sales has had a negative impact on TPE demand. By 2020, the region will produce 14.7 million vehicles, still 8% below the market's record high in 2007. Eller said the slow recovery was caused by reduced demand for automobiles, an ageing population and the development of non-automotive transport systems in Europe.

The high growth rate of TPE market varies according to type. For SBC, the high growth market includes packaging, automotive, electronics, medical care and wire and cable. The growth of copolyesters comes from the electronics and bio plastics industries. The automotive industry is expected to provide future growth momentum for TPV, while thermoplastic polyurethane resins and foams are expected to show demand growth in the bioplastics and footwear industries.

In the Chinese market, Shenzhen Plastic CPC with high-performance TPE products and related services, to provide customers with automotive market plastic solutions.
